Salvatore Calabrese, President
Salvatore Calabrese graduated from Temple University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He has received a certification in Small Business Management from the Wharton Small Business Development Center in 1994.
Salvatore joined the Company in 1981 at the request of his father, Anthony Calabrese. He began to learn every aspect of the manufacturing process while completing his educational requirements and during summer breaks.
His first duties included foam cutting and molding, as well as, shipping and receiving. In 1985, after learning all the floor duties, Salvatore was promoted to the front office as a marketing representative. As a representative, he attended trade shows and learned about their customers and competition.
In 1988, upon graduation, Salvatore was promoted to Vice-President, assuming the responsibilities of personnel, payroll, and financial analysis. He decided that the company had to move forward and purchased a computer system. Being a small family business, ordering, invoicing, purchasing, and payents were all done by hand. After a few months, he had sucessfully implemented the computerization of the accounting and daily administration tasks.
In 1990, Salvatore became President assuming the strategic management and conceptual responsibilities. These duties include new product development and planning sessions with financial and legal advisors. In addition, he has been granted domestic, as well as, international intellectual property rights for various medical devices.
Today, Salvatore continues his duties as President of the Philadelphia Cervical Collar Company while exploring new endeavors and business opportunities to improve the current state of the medical community.

Carolyn Calabrese Palavage, Vice-President
Carolyn Calabrese-Palavage graduated from Temple University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. She has received a certification in Small Business Management from the Wharton Small Business Development Center in 1994.
In 1984, Carolyn joined Professional Recruiters, Inc. as a personnel recruiter. Acting as a liaison between local businesses and potential employees seeking various employments. In 1986, Carolyn joined the Farm Journal, Inc. in Philadelphia, the nations' leading agricultural publication as a marketing assistant responsible for correspondence to advertisers, proofreading and was proactive in responding to the needs of the customer. In 1988, Carolyn was promoted to direct mail coordinator, she assisted national advertisers with direct mail lists.
In 1991, Carolyn joined the Company as a marketing representative at the request of her brother, Salvatore. As a representative, she attended trade shows, learned about the competition and handled all advertising. In 1994, Carolyn was promoted to Vice-President assuming the responsibilities of personnel, employee scheduling, payroll, marketing and proactive in customer relations.
Today, Carolyn continues her duties as Vice-President of the Philadelphia Cervical Collar Company while enriching the lives of the Company's employees and their families.
